Private international law

Private international law governs situations where the courts or legal systems of more than one country apply and where a conflict arises regarding which country’s rules should take precedence. It is particularly important in such cases to know which country’s laws will apply, e.g. in connection with a divorce or death. The validity of agreements in other countries and the way in which rulings can be enforced in other countries are issues that come under private international law.

We assist clients on a daily basis with international issues and have extensive experience of working in an international environment.

We often handle cases in cooperation with colleagues in Gibraltar, the USA, South America and elsewhere. The constant presence of an international aspect provides the law firm with unique experience when it comes to finding the best solutions for international issues.
